Yes, as coffee grounds are acidic. The more acidic the material, the easier it is for it to stain carpets. That’s if the coffee grounds are wet. For example, you took out the grounds from the coffee machine and they ended up on the floor and got stepped on. In this case, you will want a professional company to try to get the stain out.

If the coffee grounds were dry they shouldn’t stain the carpet. And you should be able to just vacuum them right off the carpet.

You can use baking soda to neutralize the smell of a carpet that’s not fresh. Or to simply keep the carpet smelling fresh to neutralize future odours.

Sprinkle it over the carpet and allow it 20 minutes or so. Then vacuum it all up. It’s as simple as that. This is if you are in a rush. If you are not in a rush you can leave it for a few hours before vacuuming. Do this once every two months or so. This is on top of vacuuming twice per week minimum.

The next thing to keep in mind is airflow. Stale air will stay stale no matter what you do. So get the windows opened in the rooms of your home with carpet at least an hour per day.

If you had a teeshirt on and got drenched by rain in the winter would it dry if you stayed outside in cold temperatures?

Well, the answer is that it would eventually dry. But, it’s the same concept for carpet. It can eventually dry in cold temperatures but the mold growth would have set in by then.

This is why we recommend the heating be turned on in your home after the carpet cleaning takes place to help dry the carpet out to avoid any issue with mold.

It all depends on the work being performed. Cleaning a 1 bedroom condo after a tenant leaves that was on a fly-in/fly-out schedule will be a quick job of 90 minutes or maybe even an hour. Cleaning a 5-bedroom family home with kids and pets, on the other hand, will be a different story! That could take a few hours.

If you cleaned your carpets with a DIY rental machine and the room still smells like it’s wet and damp, odds are that when using it there was too much water. When too much water is used during carpet cleaning that ‘wet’ smell is produced.

The best way to prevent not only the carpet from getting dirty again is to let it air out for at least 24 hours (or even more). If you’re not going to wait 24 hours then you can start to use the carpet again after 6 hours. Any time before 6 hours we can’t recommend. If you do use the carpet before that you risk making fresh stains.

Carpet cleaners will always start by vacuuming and making sure there’s nothing on the ground. Not this is with their high-powered vacuums. This process is to get all that deep soil stuck in the carpet out.

You still should have the carpet vacuumed with a regular vacuum cleaner before the appointment starts.

No, they are generally not permanent. Even the hardest of stains can come out. But, this all depends on a few factors.

1. How long ago did the stain take place?
2. Was the stain dabbed up with a clean cloth or wet paper towel?
3. Was water used to dab up the stain?
4. Was the stain rubbed to try to get it out?
5. Was anything put on the stain to remove it? Such as store-bought stain removers.

There are other factors. But, as long as a stain is not too old. It was dabbed to remove it with a cloth and only warm water. And no chemicals were used on it to try to remove it. Then steam cleaning should remove the stain.

8 – 12 hours for the couch to dry completely. But it can be less depending on the situation. It’s best to ask the cleaning technician once they are done as their answer will be the most accurate.

We use wet carpet cleaning. That’s a deep steam carpet cleaning process, for 99%+ of the carpet we clean.

It’s called pre-spray. A pre-spray can be used to neutralize some of the alkaline soils first. This step will release some of the grips that the soil may have on carpet fibres, making it easier for them to be removed with steam cleaning. Once a carpet has been installed, it is subject to the constant push and pulls of traffic. The fibres in your carpets can become slightly stretched and then slightly relaxed as that weight repeatedly passes over them.
