Step 1 – Full and Complete Pre-Inspection

First, we do a full pre-inspection of the property to be cleaned. We inspect the carpet of your property that needs cleaning. Therefore, we can determine exactly what needs to be done.

We check for:

The depth of soiling on carpets in high-traffic areas.

Evidence of permanent stains on the carpet.

A carpet that is at risk of shrinking.

Step 2 – Fibre Test

We do a small test to identify the specific type of fibre in your carpet. This will help us determine the correct cleaning solution to use with steam cleaning that we use on your carpet. This test needs to be done to make sure your carpet doesn’t get damaged.

Step 3 – Power Vacuuming

During our carpet cleaning service, we use a powerful commercial vacuum, which is able to remove as much dirt and debris as possible. This is not your typical household vacuum. It’s a whole lot more powerful than that.

Step 4 – Pre-Spray and Agitate

A preconditioning agent is used for the purpose of breaking down soiled carpet areas that are covered in dirt, oils, and particles that are hard to remove. Pre-sprays are highly beneficial in areas with heavy traffic as well as general stains in order to help lift the deeply embedded dirt from the carpet fibres.

The stains we know will be more difficult to remove are treated with a special treatment for stubborn spots. It’s the same thing as a pre-spay, except that it’s much stronger and can get out tough stains.

After the pre-spray has been applied, we then use a mechanical agitation machine to help the solution we just sprayed on the carpet reach the depth of that soil to further assist in breaking it down.

Step 5 – Rinse & Extract

In the next step, the extremely powerful steam cleaning process will take place.

We utilize a powerful steam cleaning machine in order to thoroughly cleanse all surfaces of the carpet. It depends on what the situation is, but we usually use a wand or a truck-mounted system. Boiling water injected into the carpet piles causes hot steam to be generated at 150+ PSI. Your carpet will then be thoroughly cleaned of dirt, as well as oil, grime, and other stubborn substances. Step 6 – Post Treatment

Step 7 – Pile Realignment

Moisture makes the carpet pile more flexible. So this is a great opportunity for us to reposition the carpet pile back to its correct position. Usually, this is done by running a brush over the carpet to push the piles upright.

Benefits from realigning the pile include: Faster Drying

The pile will dry slower if it’s pushed down. When it is upright, there are small gaps between each pile, which allow the material to breathe. Having the piles ordered correctly and upright allows the carpet to dry properly, which results in a softer carpet.

As the pile is stacked upright, it will take longer for it to become soiled again. Soiling relies on the sticky nature of multiple piles attaching to each other. By keeping the piles upright, this can be prevented to some extent.

Step 8 – Industrial Air Movers

The last step is only required in certain situations. Taking out a lot of moisture from carpet with deep steam cleaning is fantastic, but there are times when a little more airflow is needed. It can take a long time to dry naturally in the middle of winter, for instance. Or in areas with restricted airflow such as sealed-off rooms without windows and adequate ventilation.

For carpets that require special airflow to be properly dried, we will bring in industrial air movers to help carpets from drying completely. When finished, carpets cannot even be slightly damp. You must let the carpets dry completely.
